It’s a well known fact that drinking water can help you shed pounds. What you may not know, however, is that icy cold water is even more effective. It makes your body work to raise your temperature, which speeds up your metabolism.

Who doesn’t love french fries? The siren call of french fries has derailed many diets. If you must have french fries, try to bake them. Cut potatoes into 1/2″ fries, toss in a large bowl with 1 tbsp. of oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary if you like, and bake in a single layer at 400 degrees for 30 min. It is not a good idea to skip meals. Skipping meals doesn’t make you lose weight, it causes your body to store extra fat. Even if you’re not remotely hungry, stick to a regular eating schedule and don’t starve yourself.

You should try walking up short flights of stairs if you want to lose weight. It might not seem like much to walk short flights of stairs, but you burn calories by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, even if just a few stories you are climbing.

When you’ve lost enough weight, ditch the clothes that no longer fit right. Doing this is an excellent way to pat yourself on the back for your weight loss results, and it also gives a boost to your self-confidence. Once you get rid of your old clothes, you will not be tempted to fall back into your old habits.

When dieting, eat whole foods that are unprocessed to make sure you are getting adequate nutrition. Diets can often cause people to turn to low calorie foods that don’t contain that much nutrition. While this helps them slim down, they don’t feel that good overall.

Also keep a positive outlook and set incremental goals that are achievable. Keep these tips and tricks in mind to lose weight successfully. Once you have reached your goals, maintaining your plan is the easy part.
